How to make a video a ringtone on iPhone

Step 1: get the video into Photos

• Filmed it yourself: it's already in Photos.
• TikTok: open the video → Share → Save video (the creator must allow downloads). If the sound is what you want but downloads are off, use iOS screen recording (Control Center → Record) while the video plays, then trim the recording.
• Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts: use the app's own download or save option where offered, or screen-record.
• Received in Messages / WhatsApp: tap the video → Share → Save Video.

Step 2: video to ringtone in RingTon101

1. Share the video into the app

   In Photos, open the video, tap Share and choose Ringtone Maker from the app row (tap More if it's hidden). Alternatively open RingTon101 and import from Photos.

2. Let the app extract the audio

   RingTon101 pulls the audio track out of the video automatically — no separate "video to MP3" converter needed. The video's frames are shown above the timeline so you can see where you are.

3. Trim to the moment

   Drag the yellow handles to the 30 seconds (or less) you want. Preview it; for a TikTok sound, a 5–10 second cut often works better as a text tone than as a full ringtone.

4. Boost the volume

   Phone videos are usually quiet. Slide Boost Volume up to 3–7× so the ringtone is loud enough to hear from another room.

5. Export and set

   Tap Ringtone → Download, then in GarageBand Share → Ringtone → Export. Choose Standard Ringtone, Text Tone or a contact. Done.

Making a TikTok sound your ringtone

TikTok doesn't export audio by itself, so the reliable route is: save the video (or screen-record it), then treat it like any other video above. Two tips for TikTok sounds specifically:

• Trim off the first half-second — many clips start with a click or a breath.
• If the sound is a short meme or catchphrase, export it as a Text Tone rather than a ringtone; it's funnier as a notification and doesn't cut off.

Using a screen recording as the source

Screen recordings are just videos in Photos, so they work the same way. Turn your volume up before recording (recorded volume follows the phone's level), and if the app you're recording blocks audio capture, switch on the microphone in the Control Center recording menu and play it through the speaker.

Troubleshooting

Ringtone Maker doesn't show in the Share sheet

Scroll the app row to the end, tap More, and enable Ringtone Maker (you can also add it to Favorites). Or import from inside the app instead.

The extracted audio is silent

The video may have been saved without its audio track (some apps strip it). Try screen-recording the video with the speaker on.

The video is long and the trimmer feels slow

Pre-trim it in Photos (Edit → drag the ends) to the rough area you want, then share the shorter version to RingTon101.
